It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lewis Franklin Smith of Bay City, Texas, born in Collegeport, Texas, who passed away on January 3, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Melvin Roy Smith; his siblings, Tommy Smith, Alfred Smith, Charlie Wayne Smith and Doris Smith; and his daughter Shannon Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Anne Smith; and his siblings, Gail Helwig, Mary Lou Thurman, Joyce Cochran and Jasper Roy Smith. He is also survived by two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, Lewis requested that donations be made to the St. Jude's Cancer Research Center.
