It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVerne Kempson Ward of Bay City, Texas, born in Memphis, Texas, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Burris Kempson and Ruth Kempson; and her son Lee Ward. She is survived by: her husband Calvin Ward; her children, Melinda Burrus of Eunice, LA and Kevin Ward (Stephanie) of Van Vleck; her sister Louisa Brown; and her grandchildren, Rachel Harris, Sara Janot, Felecia Martin, Joshua Ward, Miranda Benham, Beth Creach, Caden Ward and Landon Ward. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
