With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Joseph Starks of Bay City, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 20, 2024 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Joseph Starks to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Starks and Agnes Starks; his grandson Landon Starks; his son-in-law Kenneth Shiflet; and his siblings, Ruth Jones (Sam), Esther Evans (Carol), Aaron Starks, Kenneth and Borden Allen.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Briggs Starks; his children, Morris (Jann), Phil (Jackie) and Rhonda Shiflet of Santa Fe; his granddaughter Tina Hoskins of Angleton; his brother Samuel Starks (Jean); his siblings-in-law, Blanche Starks, Rose Briggs, Doris Williams and Roy Briggs (Karen); and his nephew J. D. Baugus. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church (5701 7th St, Bay City, TX 77414).
