He was predeceased by: his parents, Lupe Yanez, Sr. and Eloisa Losoya Yanez; his daughter Lisa Yanez; and his siblings, Lucille Rubio, Anna Yanez, Robert Yanez and Patrick Yanez.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Brady, Jennifer Nicole Yanez and Ernest Yanez, Jr.; and his siblings, Paula Sedillo of Lake Jackson, Irene Escobar (Wally) of Bay City, Lupe Yanez, Jr. (Delia) of Alvin, Mack Yanez (Margaret) of Danbury and Charles Yanez of Bay City. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
