She was predeceased by: her father Frank Calvin Westbrook; her former husband Charles "Larry" Cherry; her children, Larry Eugene Cherry and Debra Sue Bender; and her siblings, Dorothy Jean Kissinger and Thomas Calvin Westbrook.
She is survived by: her husband Sherril Keith Slawson; her sisters, Mary Lou Denison and Peggy Niederlitz; and her grandchildren, Brandi Saunders, Anthony Gonzales, Kristina Bush, Sean Cherry, Larry Don, Isbeth Cherry, John and Katie Cherry. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
