It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis Griggs Sr. (Bay City, Texas), who passed away on June 8, 2018, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Anita Fay Griggs; his parents, Ira Griggs and Nealie Griggs; and his siblings, Preston Griggs, Willie Griggs, Jimmy Griggs, Albert Tone and Alice Griggs.
He is survived by: his children, David Powell, Sr. (Joyce) of Houston, Dennis Griggs, Jr. of Houston, Taurus Monroe, Sr. of Kyle, Maryetta Jammer (Walter) of Brazoria and Arlena Griggs of Bay City; his sisters, Mary Jane Griggs of Galveston and Louise Griggs Johnson of LaMarque; and his great grandchildren, Anita Austin, Dominique Royster, Debra Franklin, Kristen Burnett, LaQuita Burnett and Joel Scott. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Louisiana Times of Live Oak, Texas and Verna Griggs of Houston, Texas; Also joining the aforementioned are seventeen grandchildren.
