She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Charles Winn and Betty Winn of Texas; her former husband Curtis Arlan Dowden; her children, Kevin Curtis and Donna Renee'; her grandchildren, Steven, Cole (Kenzi) and Courtney; and her husband Don.

In lieu of flowers, it was Claire's wish that donations be made to the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation "In memory of Claire W. Dowden.".
