He was predeceased by: his parents, Candelario Gutierrez, Sr. and Dominga Ordonez Gutierrez; and his sister Herlinda Ramirez. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Perez Gutierrez; his children, Julie Garcia (Roel), Nicanor Gutierrez (Amanda), Cindy Aguilar (John Manuel) and Joseph Gutierrez (Analuisa); his grandchildren, Cynthia Lorta, Sotero Lorta, Jr. (April), Crystal Lorta, Brittany Sendejo (Cristina), John Aguilar III (Brenda), Celeste Garcia, Gabriella Gutierrez, Ceanna Aguilar, Ciara Aguilar, Mariah Garcia and Nicanor Gutierrez; his great grandchildren, Brian Lorta, Grayson Aguilar, Adelina Lorta, Gabriel Aguilar, Joel Esparza, Adevina Lorta, Jaylene Esparza, Ezekiel Castillo and Lily Zamora; and his siblings, Paula Garza, Patty Perez and Eddie Gutierrez.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home (2313 Avenue I, Bay City, TX 77404). A rosary was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1412 12th St, Bay City, TX 77414).
