He is survived by: his parents, Sidney Melear and Ann Melear of Lafayette; his children, Ben Moore, Amy Melear and Christopher Melear of Lafayette; his aunt Juanita Melear; his uncle Billy Melear; his child Chris (Jackie); and his siblings, Jeff and Suzanne.
The family asks that each person wear a face mask while inside the funeral home out of respect to the family's wishes to keep John's mom and others like her safe.
