He was predeceased by: his father James Benjamin Birdwell; and his brother Donald Gene Birdwell. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Birdwell of Mt. Belvieu, TX; his children, Ronald Leon Birdwell (Geri) of Beaumont, TX, David Allen Bird of Norfolk, NE, James Robert Birdwell Jr. of Kansas City, KS, Cheri Lynn Birdwell of Belton, MO, Janna Kelly Birdwell of Grand View, MO and Jazmine Faye Birdwell of Topeka, KS; and his brothers, John Lee Birdwell (Cheryl) and William "Bill" Joseph Birdwell (Kathy) of Gilbert, AZ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, many loving relatives, and a host of friends.
