He was predeceased by: his parents, Father Burton Massingill and Ethel Massingill; his siblings, Douglas Massingill, Helen Watson and Joyce Taylor; his wife Bobbie Massingill; and his children, Talmadge Massingill and Rebecca Massingill.
He is survived by: his sister Earnestine Dubose of Devers, Texas; his children, Joel Massingill (Lynda) of Honey Island, Texas and Lessie Roth of Kountze, Texas; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Jackson (Josh), T. J. Massingill (Emily), Amanda Ward, Lalia Biggs, Kyle Roth (Rachel) and Kaleb Roth (Stephanie). He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews.
