He was predeceased by: his father Edwin Paul Mason; his brother Thomas Robert Mason; his sister-in-law Naomi Sanchez Mason; his fathers-in-law, Tivurcio Vara Vasquez and Reynaldo Galvan; and his brother-in-law Tivurcio Vasquez, Jr..
He is survived by: his mother Evangelina Mason (Prado) of Batesville; his wife Rosa Mason of Batesville; his daughters, Alicia Mason of Batesville, Angela Mason of Uvalde, Polly Mason of Batesville, Shauwna Mason of Uvalde and Carly Martinez of Uvalde; and his siblings, Wenona Mason of Batesville, Dodd Mason of Batesville and Edwin Mason of Batesville. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
