He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Charles, Dolores McClendon, Chester and Lucille Newman; and his aunts, Janis Hehman and Cynthia Newman.

He is survived by: his parents, Chuck McClendon and Karen McClendon; his siblings, Stephanie McConnell (Steven McConnell) and Nicholas McClendon (Jessica McClendon); his sons, Alan and Kayden McClendon; his close friend Kerri Brown; and his children, Ashley, Starla and Tiffany (Tammy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins.

For those who wish to honor his memory, a scholarship fund is being set up for his boys through a GoFundMe account.
