He was predeceased by: his wife Teresa Montemayor. He is survived by: his children, John Ernest Montemayor, Erica Ann Montemayor, Emily Cruz, Basilia Marie Garcia and Rachel Lynn Aguado-Chavarria; and his siblings, John, Frank, Thomas Montemayor and Janie Rodriguez.
