He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Bustillos and Louisa Contreras Bustillos; and his siblings, Lucia Bustillos, Herminia Garcia, Gloria Avila, Hinigio Garcia and Arnulfo Bustillos.

He is survived by: his brother Javier Ortiz (Paula) of Toyah; and his nieces and nephews, Laura Renteria, Christina Arenivas, Sylvia Ortiz of Barstow, Alex Garcia of Pecos, Raymond, Larry, Roger Avila of Odessa, Daniel Garcia of Midland David and Ruben Ortiz of Barstow.
