He was predeceased by: his father George P. Self; his daughter Heather Danielle Self; his uncle Joe Self; and his grandfather Truett Self. He is survived by: his mother Janie Wadkins Dillard (Larry); his wife Teresa Kloxin; his children, Ty Self (Cheyanne), Will Kloxin (Staci), Kyra Kloxin (Justin Miller) and Laira Gilmore (Ashby); his grandchildren, Kingsley, Lainey, Tagan, Riggin, Keasley, Fisher, Prairie and Ruger; his stepmother Josie Self of Throckmorton, TX; his sister Debbie Hargrove (Stacy); his mother-in-law Marie Walsh Flemming of Archer City, TX; and his brother-in-law Bill Tom Flemming (D'Lisa). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces, other relatives, friends.
