She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Jones and Ora Jones; her sons, James Jr. and Darryl; her husband James Matthews; and her siblings, Gilbert Sr., Zelma, Elsie, John C, Freddrick, Thelma, Ora Bell, Jerutha, Inell and Delores.
She is survived by: her daughter Rosemary; her granddaughters, Dekithia Brown, Deontria Finley, Danielle Wells and Destinie Finley; and her great grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Raven Brown, Samyra Brown, Samuel Brown and Astrea Wells.
