He was predeceased by: his parents, Luke Hughes and Kathleen Elizabeth Hughes; and his brothers, Joe Hughes, Wayne Hughes and Dalton Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hughes of Bangs; and his children, Clay Hughes of Houston, Dana Loftin of Bangs and LeAnn Schell of Fort Worth. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
