Chris Cooley wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences to all of Karen's family and friends. Karen, Bobby, and I met rockhounding in West Texas a few years ago. I am a better person having known her. She was so kind, giving, caring, and had a strong faith in God. Since my cancer diagnosis in late December Karen and I had been private messaging each other about our journeys and encouraging each other to fight. Our last communication was six days before her passing. Karen was still staying positive and encouraging me to do the same. 🙏”
