It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Dexter Mapes of Ballinger, Texas, who passed away on November 1, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Mapes and Ollie Mapes (Smith); his wife Patsy Ruth Crawford; his children, Leigh Estoll and Mark Mapes; his grandson Casey Boothe; and his siblings, Marjorie Simpson (Jean) and Doug Mapes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Bartlett (Bart) of Ballinger and Laurie Stark (Wayne) of San Angelo; his grandchildren, Jason Stark of Snyder, Terilyn Bowman (Cord) of Ballinger, Jeremy Stark (Patty) of Plano, Christan Pugh of Odessa and Korri Lange (Ty) of Ballinger; and his sister Beth Harral. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Charles' honor.
