He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Cantrell (Melvin) and Helen Schmidt Cantrell; and his siblings, Joyce Hill, Barbara Jarvis, Darlene Knappenberger and Donnie Cantrell.

He is survived by: his brother Ronnie Cantrell of Watauga. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
