She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Butler Spence and Lela Elizabeth Pritchett Spence; her husband William F. Turnage; and her sister Betty Eckert. She is survived by: her son Michael L.; her daughter-in-law Marinell Turnage of Dallas; her daughter Susan Carol; her son-in-law John Michael Duke of Mesquite; her son John Paul; her daughter-in-law Misayo Turnage of San Diego, California; her daughter Teresa; and her son-in-law Matthew Hewitt of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Lila's memory to the William F. "Brother Bill" Turnage memorial scholarship fund at Johnson University.
