He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Kennedy and Nettie Kennedy; and his brothers, Edward and Carl Kennedy. He is survived by: his wife Peggie Kennedy; his children, Jacqueline Vaughan (Tommy Vaughan), Kay Hood and James "Rusty" Kennedy (Tammie); and his sisters, Laverne Lewis and Gayla Paul. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.
