He was predeceased by: his parents, Lessie James and Willie Lee Jones (Walls); and his brothers, Jerry, Perry, Jimmy and Paul.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Burger (Lawrence), James and John; his granddaughters, Sophia Burger and Lydia Burger; his former wife Susan Jones (Story); and his sister Linda McIlveene (Jones). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
