He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Lee and Dellean. He is survived by: his aunt Jean (Opal); his siblings, Toi Houston (Jerry), Sondra Grover (Glenn) and Oliver A. Houston (Gayla); his children, Jonathan Lee Tanksley-Houston and Annyta Denise Courtney (J. Lewis); his grandsons, John Lewis Courtney III and Nathaniel Wanya Courtney; his nieces and nephews, Kenneth Foggie, Taylour Foggie, Markus Houston, Harper Bischoff, Tion Houston and Troy Houston; his great-nephew Camden Robinson; and his great-niece Cayleigh Robinson.
He completed a decade with Lab Corp before retirement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
