He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvie Preston Sissom and Bethel Kay Johnson (Johnson); his wife Oda D. Sissom (Berry); his son Mark Albert Sissom; and his brother Jimmy Ray Sissom.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra A. Pryor (L. R. "Buddy" Pryor), Sharon L. Lemke (Glen R. Lemke Sr.) and Gary E. Sissom (Debra Hastings Sissom); and his grandchildren, Lauren Puckett (Pryor), Leslie Harwell (Pryor), Tony Pryor, Tami Parks (Pryor), Glen R. Lemke Jr., Leon P. Lemke, Gary E. Sissom Jr., Devon Sissom and Shawn Marion. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
