He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Sorge (Collins) of Baird, TX.; his children, Brad Bates (Erica) of Arlington, TX., Monica Houston (Sean) of Abilene, TX. and Melinda Bates of Arlington, TX.; his grandchildren, Jolea Allen (Aubrey), Ashton Bates, Darby Bates and Brady Houston; and his siblings, Lawrence Sorge (Janice) of Merced, CA, Roger Sorge (Phyllis) of Loveland, CO, Rowena Keenan (Bruce) of San Diego, CA and Maxine Knauss (Kamer) of Loveland, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
