Richard Parks Angel Obituary
Richard Parks Angel went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2023, at the age of 92 with his wife and two daughters by his side.
Born April 14, 1931, he grew up in Breckenridge, Texas where he graduated from Breckenridge High School. He enrolled in business college after graduation before joining the US Air Force. He served gallantly from 1951 until 1955 before being injured in the Korean War. After returning to the US, he was stationed in Great Falls Montana where he met the love of his life, Joan Nordheim Angel. They married January 1, 1955, and shortly thereafter moved to Abilene, Texas.
Richard worked for BJ Hughes for 32 Years as a sales and service representative. After retirement, he and Joan moved to their ranch in Callahan County, where he enjoyed ranching, raising cattle, hunting and fishing.
Richard Angel was the epitome of humility. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His contagious personality and sense of humor touched everyone who had the pleasure to know him. He will be dearly missed.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Joe Lynden Angel, and mother, Lola Trammell Angel, sister Marie Ransdell, brothers Billy and Edward Angel and son-in-law, Billy Kilpatrick.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan Angel, daughters, Sharon Dickey and husband Roger, Gaila Kilpatrick and one sister, Lois Vanek. Grandchildren Sara Reynolds and husband Kylan, Tanner Kilpatrick and Patrick Williams, Chance Kilpatrick, Issac Dickey and wife Lacy, Bo Kilpatrick and wife Katie. Great grandchildren Laramie, Leggin and Leddy Reynolds, Josie Jymes and Leona Parks Dickey, Cameron, Rhys and Beckett Kilpatrick.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E 3 rd Street in Baird. Services will be Friday, September 8, 2023, 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Baird, 240 Race Street, with Terry Simmons officiating. Burial will be at Ross Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Weeks, Gaylan Bogard, Terry Barron, Joey Henley, Ron Smith and Sam Day, his dear friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Dickey, Tanner Kilpatrick, Patrick Williams, Kylan Reynolds, Chance Kilpatrick, Issac Dickey, Bo Kilpatrick, Leggin Reynolds, Rhys and Beckett Kilpatrick, Monte Angel and Mike Angel.
