Lee Roy Brooker Obituary

Lee Roy Brooker, 96, passed away peacefully at Western Hills Nursing Home in Comanche, Texas. He was born April 8, 1928 in Talpa, Tx to Jay Brooker and Clara Jackson Brooker.

He served in the US Army for 2 years. After returning from service he married the love of his life Jean Luttrell and they settled in Baird. While in Baird, Lee Roy served as Fire Chief of the Baird Volunteer Fire Department, a councilman on the Baird City Council, and was also an Elder of the First United Methodist Church. Lee Roy owned his own business, Baird Auto Repair which he operated for over 30 years. He also loved to fish and hunt with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers. Also his loving wife of 46 years Jean Brooker.

He is survived by 1sister Velma Hollis of Clyde; his one and only child, Brenda Lewis and husband Danny of Comanche; three grandchildren, Mitchell Lewis and Brandy of Arkansas, Daniell Lewis of Comanche and Somer Lewis and speical companion Cilina Murphy of Comanche. He Also has four great grandchildren, Daniell Lewis Jr of Comanche, Mkaedin Lewis of Comanche, Krynn Lewis of Merkel and Brenden Lewis of Clyde; and many nieces and nephews.

A vistitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home in Baird. A private burial will be held at a later date.
