He is survived by: his parents, Carrol Gillit and Evelyn Ingram Gillit; his sister Donna; his brother-in-law Royce McAdams of Baird; his nieces and nephews, Danya Maxfield of Austin, Macie Kennedy of Bells, Texas, Keegan Konigsmark of Utah and Kolby Konigsmark of Redlands; and his close friend Emma Carrasco of Odessa.
