He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabel Pfeil Marek and Charles James Marek, Sr.; his stepfather Roy Helms; his brother Johnny Vance Marek; his sons, Robert Franklin and Carl Dunn Marek; and his granddaughter Jamie Marek Horner.

He is survived by: his wife Donnie Sue Marek; his son Johnny Vance Marek (Debora); his grandson-in-law Luke Horner; and his grandchildren, Landrye (Bella), Kingston and Charlee Horner.
