He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorris Marie Wheat and Marvin Samuel Wheat Sr.. He is survived by: his brother Marvin Samuel Wheat Jr. Alan; his son Joshua Alan Wheat Wilson; his sisters, Nelda Joyce Calloway and Susan Elaine Johnson; his grandsons, Preston Davis White and Brody Alan Wilson; and his nieces and nephews, Tisha Witt, Magan Theil, Caroline Carlson and Christopher Wheat. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends.
