He is survived by: his parents, John Bates and Ann Bates; his wife Lynn Bates; his daughters, Cynthia (Andrew Millhollen) and Amanda (Travis Teigen); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Paisley, Brasen, Jaxon and Brixton; his brothers, Martin Bates (Jill) and Christopher Bates (Charlene); his nephews, Carter, Noah, Riley, Connor and Ethan; and his father-in-law Laurent Rainville (late Georgette).
