He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Johnson and Ruthie Johnson (Holmes); his children, Charles Cottongame, Wesley Cottongame and Bonnie Burcie (Marie); and his siblings, Henry Johnson Jr., Thomas Johnson, Reba Russell and Edna Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Lee Cottongame (Huddelston); his sons, Marvin Cottongame (Deborah) and Eric Johnson (Stacy); his daughter-in-law Donna Cottongame; and his siblings, Milton Johnson, Hollis Johnson and Mary Gagnon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
