She is survived by: her parents, Gary Willman and Judith Willman; her husband Kevin Schafer; her children, Lex (Carolyn), Aleyna (Jon Mathias), Morgan, Pete, Merrin (Brock Shaw) and Azrielle (Andrew Butler); and her siblings, Sherrie (Gary Bulechek), Gary Lee (Sherry), Marty (Lucy), Bud (Janice), Lisa Berente and Suzy (Robi Horváth). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

When her eyesight became worse, she switched to helping with the donation side of that organization.
