He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Lawson-Smith and Dick Smith; his siblings, Randy, Roger, Junior, Guy Smith, Johnie Rushing and Wanda Hutyra; his daughter Destiny Smith; and his stepmother Wanda Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Kim Smith; his son Jaye Smith (Selina); his grandchildren, Tristin and Jayestin; his children, Lacey Peel (Chris) and Cooper; his brothers, Jimmy Wayne Smith (Donna) and Dick Smith "Bubba" (Theresa); and his brother-in-law Kenny Voss.
