He was predeceased by: his grandfather Augustin Gaona. He is survived by: his parents, Prudencio Gaona and Odelia Gaona; his wife Flora Y. Gaona; his son Augustin Gaona, Jr.; his siblings, Armando Gaona (Angelica), Crystal Ramirez (Luis), Francisca Gaona and Amber Segovia (Javier); his parents-in-law, Maria and Abel Torres; his siblings-in-law, Pascual Torres, Karina, Abelino Torres, Antonio Cruz, Andres Torres and Ruby Torres; and his uncle Baudilio Gaona (Susy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
