It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Terrell Wardlaw Sr. of Avinger, Texas, born in Texarkana, Arkansas, who passed away on December 25, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, W. G. Wardlaw and Mary Lucille Pierce Wardlaw; his wife Mary Earnestine O'Farrell Wardlaw; his sons, Roy Burt Wardlaw and Charles Edward Wardlaw; his sister Janie House; and his nephew Jay Wardlaw.
He is survived by: his children, James Terrell Wardlaw, Jr., Sue Lamon (Art) and Cindy Wardlaw; his brother Charles Wardlaw (Gayle); and his grandchildren, Brian Phelps and Carmen Phelps. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
