He was predeceased by: his parents, James David and Patsy Marie Ailshie Keeling; and his siblings, James David Keeling, Jr., Shirley Keeling and Helen Roberts.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Mitchell Keeling of Avery; his children, Terance Keeling (Jeannie) of Avery and Lana Lamon of Avery; his sister Linda Rhea of Annona; his grandchildren, Jeannie Keeling, Kolt Keeling, Reagan Nichols (Ty), Emily Lamon and Amy Lamon; his great grandchildren, Kinsey, Bella and Hadley; and his friend Bruce Duncan.
