She was predeceased by: her parents, Haywood Tucker and Lula Elizabeth Bower Tucker; her husband John T. Mathis; her children, Helen Mathis, Kathy Mathis, Marie McSpeeden and Hollis Elliot; and her grandchildren, Larry and Robin.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Wayne Mathis (Shirley) of Whitesboro, David Leo Mathis (Della) of Forney, Donnie Ray Mathis of Avery, Jimmy D. Mathis (Alice) of Dekalb and Mammie Harris of Dekalb; and her grandchildren, Kenny, Timmy, Tanya, Margaret, Tina, Donnie, Jr., Bobbie, Elizabeth, Tony, Illa and Kie. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
