He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Barringer; his stepfather Joe Barringer; and his daughter Cindy King Kirkpatrick. He is survived by: his wife Paula; his children, Darrin King and Sarah Haley; and his grandchildren, Briana Mesa and Rion King (Basia).
