He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Alvarado and Josefa Alvarado. He is survived by: his wife Josie Franco-Alvarado; his brothers, Robert Alvarado (Carol) and Richard Alvarado (Susan); and his nieces, Catherine, Julia Alvarado, Imelda Thompson (Mike) and Terry Castro.
