The memory of Mary Alice Alvarez of Austin, Texas, who passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age of 98, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her nephew Donald; her parents, Carlotta (Resendez) and Joe Alvarez; and her sisters, Zelma, Bea, Dora and Gloria.
She is survived by: her sister Cecilia Jo Alvarez of Austin; her niece Jo Scribner; her great-nephew Christopher Scribner; her niece Jo Diane Spears; her son-in-law Robert Spears; her grandchildren-in-law, Matthew, Daniel (Sarah) and Rachel (Patrick Dempewolff); her great-nieces, Antoinette and Elizabeth (Brandon Jack); and also, Christian, Cayden, Benjamin and Michael.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home (6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to St. Austin Catholic Church.
