She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Hurt, Sr. and Madie Davis Hurt; and her siblings, Dorothy Jean Walker, Nila Ann Wright, Wanda LaNell Burns, Billy Ray Byrum, J. W. "Dub" Hurt Jr., Linda Lee Shifflett, Velda Lynn Stapp and Robert Harvey Hurt.

She is survived by: her husband Rev. Don Dobyns; and her children, Ladona Claiborne (Greg), Deborah Neyland (Wilburn), Phebe Joanna Whiteside (Alfred), Marsha Montey (Marty) and Patricia Ruthstrom. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
