She is survived by: her husband Ralph Schmitz of Austin, TX; her children, Wilfried Schmitz (Sue) of Houston, TX, Keith Schmitz (Lisa) of Keller, TX, Edith Kachnik (Bob) of Houston, TX and Peter Schmitz (Pam) of Austin, TX.; and her grandchildren, Andrew Kachnik, Kendra Schmitz, Kelley Kachnik, Alexander Schmitz, Zachary Schmitz, Emily Schmitz, Olivia Schmitz, Isabella Schmitz, Ethan Schmitz, Eric Melass and Brian Melass. She is also survived by four great- grandchildren.
