With solemn reverence, we commemorate Kathleen Shay of Austin, Texas, whose life came to an end on December 7, 2024 at the age of 75, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Hurtz and John Hurtz; her sister Joan Hebert; and her siblings-in-law, Elliott and Betty Hurtz.
She is survived by: her husband Dennis Shay; her brother Barry Hurtz; her children, Shannon Hudson (Paul) and Kyle Duffy (Betsy); her grandchildren, Ella, Cooper, Liam, Margot and Julia; and also Jeff Shay (Ronnette). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin, TX 78739).
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Kathy's memory to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, The Trail Conservancy, or a charity of your choice.
