He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Benito Alvarez, Sr.; his siblings-in-law, Janie Ovalle and Marcos Gonzales; and his sister Mary Garcia. He is survived by: his parents, Jose Gutierrez and Maria Gutierrez; his wife Rachel Alvarez; his son Jonathon Benito Alvarez; his mother-in-law Estella Alvarez; his siblings-in-law, Benny Alvarez, Jr. (Teresa), Mary Sue Nicholas (Tim), Norma Gonzales and Robert Ovalle, Jr.; and his siblings, Robert Gutierrez (Inez), Ruth Gutierrez, Eva Gutierrez, Rachel G. Lopez and Joel Gutierrez (Claudia). He is also survived by fifteen nieces and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harrell Funeral Homes - Kyle (1715 Kirby, Kyle, TX 78640). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harrell Funeral Home (1715 Kirby, Kyle, TX 78640). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church (801 Burleson St, Kyle, TX 78640). A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the San Miguel Cemetery (72 S Old Spanish Trail, Kyle, TX 78640).
