He was predeceased by: his parents, Armon Wright and Estella Wright; his former wife Laura Harcrow Wright of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Steven and Anne Backus; and his siblings, Jerrell (Margie), Lorraine (Tatum) and Elmer (Louise).
He is survived by: his sons, William Alvis (Bill) and James Ray (Phyllis); his wife Laurel Fette Wright of Woodway; his daughter-in-law Verna Beth; his stepson Jerry Fette, Jr.; and his grandson James Matthew (Brandie).
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the OakCrest Funeral Home (4520 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710). A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Texas State Cemetery (909 Navasota St, Austin, TX 78702).
