He is survived by: his children, Joshua Earl Holden (Emily George) of Houston, Chelsea Meredith Holden of Austin and Kathryn Meredith Holden of Fredericksburg; his grandson William Walker Holden of Houston; his close friend Mary Eloise Batts of Horseshoe Bay; and the mother of his children Meredith Smith Holden of Austin.
