She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Angel Benavides and Sophia Garza; her sons, Michael Joe Compton and James Albert Compton; and her siblings, Irene Medina, Estella Alvarado, Mary Galvan, Annie Trevino, Larry Benavides and Frank "Pancho" Guerrero.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Compton-Limon, John Paul Compton, Jeffrey Thomas Compton (Perla) and Frank Gilbert Compton (Michelle); and her siblings, Beatrice Benavides, Frances Loera (Pete), Betty Arnold (George), Joe Benavides (Yolanda) and Deacon Alfred Benavides (Dolores). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel (6204 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78745). A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the San Jose Catholic Church (2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, TX 78704). A reception was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
